Publicly listed wholesaler Cellnet has today been announced as the new distributor for Philips-branded accessories, such as “batteries, flash memory, cleaning and power on-the-go mobile accessories”.

These Philips accessories are supplied by WOOX Innovations. Originally a wholly-owned subsidiary formed to house Philips’ audio and accessories product lines, WOOX was sold to American musical instrument company Gibson earlier this year as part of Philips’ broad divestment of consumer facing product categories. WOOX has the licence to use the Philips brand for at least the next seven years.

“I am very excited about our appointment to represent WOOX Innovations and its portfolio of Philips-branded accessories,” said Cellnet ANZ CEO Alan Sparks. “Philips is such a trusted Australian and New Zealand household brand and brings a great range of products fitting the categories for which Cellnet has become the market leader for distribution.”

Thomas Butler, accessories business line leader at WOOX, said, “This agreement is a significant step forward for WOOX Innovations’ distribution in Australia and New Zealand. By combining our product offering with the deep retail sales channel of Cellnet, we are opening up new doors to customers”.

WOOX Innovations’ range of Philips-branded audio products are distributed by Powermove and are unaffected by this announcement.
