It’s Klipsch to be Openair! Audio brand sponsoring nationwide outdoor cinema season

American audio brand Klipsch, which is distributed locally by Powermove Australia, has signed on as the exclusive audio partner for the next two summers of the Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema.

Debuting last night in Brisbane, the Openair Cinema will tour Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth through until 26 April 2015.

As the official audio sponsor, Klipsch will be delivering the latest in professional cinema sound to the filmgoers lounging in hammocks, munching on ice cream, whilst also showcasing the brand’s range of speakers and headphones to a young, culturally aware demographic. Some sessions at the cinema also include pre-film DJing from local and international maestros, creating an immersive experience for Klipsch to embed itself into.

Other sponsors of the Openair Cinema include VW, Giesen, XXXX and Aperol Spritz.

Only the Brisbane season has thus far been announced, so our recommendations are necessarily limited, but we suggest seeing Point Break on 9 October 2014, Grease (‘Sing-a-Long’) on 19 October 2014, The Breakfast Club on 29 October 2014 and Boyhood on 4 November and 9 November 2014. The cinema is located at the Rainforest Green in South Bank.

Klipsch has confirmed that it will return to sponsor the Summer 2016 Openair Cinema season as well.
