Breville, Miele, Dyson and Samsung are among the appliance and technology industry winners from Reader’s Digest 2014 Most Trusted Brands survey. Dyson, in particular, faired well, being named the #3 most trusted brand overall, behind Dettol and Colgate.
According to its website, Reader’s Digest determines the Most Trusted brands by collating all the major names in each category — 46 in total — and then surveying 2,413 Australians to score them on “a trust scale” between 1 and 10.
“For the past 13 years, Australians have told us what guides their buying choices,” Reader’s Digest said. “They’ve told us which brands stand out above the others by consistently delivering on a promise: to satisfy their needs, to make their life easier and to offer value for money.”
Here are the relevant results for the appliance and technology industries (listed in the same order as Reader’s Digest):
Coffee Machines: Breville, De’Longhi, Sunbeam
Dishwashers: Miele, Bosch, Fisher & Paykel, LG
Fridges: Westinghouse, Fisher & Paykel, Samsung

“Year after year, we find that the key attributes of a trusted brand remain true. A trusted brand ensures its product is easily recognised, reliable and useful,” continued Reader’s Digest.
“We also know that consumers are savvy at decoding brand messages and are quick to detect those that suit their lives and lifestyle over those that don’t.
“In uncertain times, it’s the brands that continue to offer quality and substance that continue to enjoy Australians’ trust.”
