French kitchen appliance brand Scholtès, a member of the Ariston stable, is sponsoring the inaugural Melbourne festival that celebrates the most desirable fungus in the world: Truffle Melbourne.

Australia is the 4th largest producer of black truffles after France, Spain and Italy, according to Truffle Melbourne and the festival is an opportunity to introduce Melbournians to “the delights of the truffle.”

Scholtès brand ambassador Manu Feildel will share his truffle knowledge during two cooking demonstrations on the second day of the event at Caulfield Racecourse on Sunday 13 July 2014. It is another opportunity to showcase the Scholtès Mulitplo — an induction powered multicooker set into the bench top that can roast, boil, steam, deep fry and slow cook.

Another highlight of the day will be Manu hosting a “ladies only” Truffle Banquet Luncheon. The Truffle Banquet Menu will be designed exclusively by Manu.

National sales and marketing manager for Scholtès, Rachael Williams said that the company was delighted to be a major sponsor of Melbourne’s first truffle festival.

“Scholtès is eager to showcase our stylish and cutting edge kitchen appliances. This is a great chance for us to shine and show serious foodies and home-cooks alike that Scholtès really is the taste of perfection. Just like the truffle,” she said.

As part of the wider push to publicise the truffle season, truffle hunts will be held each weekend from 21 June until mid-August on truffle growers farms in regional Victoria. The experience comes complete with truffle dogs.

Truffle Melbourne will be held at Caulfield Racecourse across two days, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July 2014.
