Smeg is investing in its west coast operations with the opening of a new industrial-style showroom in the Perth suburb of Nedlands.
The 525 square metre showroom packed with Smeg appliances will play host to weekly retail training programs and pre- and post-sale cooking demonstrations.
Smeg said it “sees this latest showroom as a significant investment in both its brand and the state of Western Australia by creating a world-standard premium appliance showroom for retailers, designers, architects and developers to use with their clients.”
Smeg’s Classic and Linear collections are positioned at the showroom entry along with the brand’s freestanding cookers and a comprehensive range of cooktops.
The large working kitchen has seating for more than a dozen guests and is positioned near the brand’s iconic collection of coloured retro design refrigerators. Local jarrah timbers have also been used for tables and work tops.
Polished concrete floors, blocks of colour and exposed light tracks add an industrial feel to the space. There a few quirky design touches as well, such as the FAB500 refrigerator positioned beneath the bonnet of a Fiat 500.
A large space has been allocated to the brand’s dishwashers and its many rangehoods.
There is also a space dedicated to Smeg’s commercial appliances plus Food Services products for the hospitality industry.
