If there is one thing UnderCurrent loves more than modern art, it is anagrams. And, boy, has it found a beautiful confluence of the two.

In Bega, on the New South Wales south coast, the local arty types have taken over the premises of the now defunct local Retravision and are using it to host a modern art festival called — and you’ll like this — ReArtVision.

Albert McKnight from the Bega District News has the scoop (and UnderCurrent definitely recommends you click on the link for the full story and imagery):

As part of the Festival of the Face, art space ReArtVision has opened at the old Retravision store on Gipps Street, Bega, featuring an exhibition and interactive art installations.

The exhibition displays portraiture, sculptures and photography by local artists made around the theme of the face.

Before becoming an art gallery, this outlet was part of the Wykes Retravision network, which also included stores at Merimbula and Eden (Tura Beach). Owners Graeme and Sheldon Wykes closed the store in May 2012 and became Harvey Norman franchisees.
