Falcao, Cocaine and Coffee: Welcome to Colombia!
Capsule coffee category captain Nespresso has released two limited edition single origin Colombian grands crus: Cauca and Santander. These two flavours form the the Colombian Terroirs set and should be as popular as the other local produce from this great South American nation.
Coffee is such a way of life in Colombia that — and I am being serious here — the Colombian National Football Team is called Los Cafeteros (The Coffee Growers).

“Distinctly different in taste and aroma, they can be explored side by side to compare their unique sensory profiles,” said Nespresso Oceania marketing and communications manager Nicole Parker. “Cauca is characterised by its fruity, winey aromas. It is found in the lush, green, fertile region of south-west Colombia. Santander comes from the hot, dry slopes in the north-east region of Colombia and evokes notes of toasted bread and sweet caramel.”
Nespresso recommends both Colombian Terroirs as a 40-millilitre espresso with milk. And what machine should a Nespresso aficionado use? As an aside, coffee will definitely come in handy when Los Cafeteros take the field to play in the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup. Fans of The Coffee Growers will be staying up throughout the night to see the boys take on Greece, Côte d’Ivoire and Japan (they should win that group!)
