On this day, from the pages of Appliance Retailer:

Tuesday 13 January 2008

The renaissance of the Betta Stores Retail group was in full swing when we reported that the new ‘Home Living’ furniture brand had helped the Queensland-based chain to a strong end-of-year performance:

“The response by both rural and metro based consumers to our Betta Home Living offer has been overwhelmingly positive. BSR Group is fielding inquiries weekly from both, existing and new furniture retailers and interested suppliers to the industry” said [then] BSR general manager Ian Brown.

The new furniture line has performed much better than expected and initial projections for early 2009 have been positive, with plans already under way for future promotions.

“The BHL January catalogue is already on the streets and is out performing our initial expectations and we are in production now for further promotional events for the first half of the new calendar year” stated Brown.

On that day, Australian actress Cate Blanchett won a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe for her performance in I’m Not There.

Flash Forward:

So successful was the Betta Home Living branding that this platform was rolled out nationwide to become BSR Group’s primary retail brand.
