Bunnings has topped Canstar Blue’s hardware store ratings.

Bunnings has edged out the otherwise high-scoring Home Timber & Hardware, Masters and Mitre 10 to be named Australia’s favourite hardware store by Canstar Blue. Bunnings scored strongly on value for money, brand and product ranges and service, while its three stars for online store catalogue was equal worst among its peers.

“This is the second year we’ve looked at customer satisfaction in the area of hardware stores, and our latest results have revealed a familiar face as our winner,” said a Canstar Blue spokesperson.

“Bunnings has achieved our ‘Most Satisfied Customers Award – Hardware Stores’ and achieved five star ratings in nearly all our rated criteria. This is the second time Bunnings has received a Canstar Blue award.

“However, they weren’t the only high achievers: Mitre 10 finished with top ratings for service and advice, and Masters received five stars for value for money, store layout and online store catalogue.”

Hardware stores have been increasingly encroaching into appliance sales, especially Bunnings and Masters, which see major kitchen appliances especially as a natural extension of their home DIY core competency. These overall strong results for the four major hardware retailers should please appliance suppliers.
