Following the departure of Fisher & Paykel’s marketing manager Peter Russell, the New Zealand company has made an internal appointment to fill the role. Former brand manager Kara May has been appointed as Fisher & Paykel’s new marketing manager for Australia, effective immediately.

May has been with the company for four years, joining as assistant brand manager in 2010 before being promoted to brand manager a year later. Prior to F&P, May worked as a marketing coordinator for Revlon Australia.

Speaking about the appointment was Fisher & Paykel Australia chief operating officer, Mike Church.

“We are very excited by the prospect of Kara leading the marketing function within Fisher & Paykel Australia, and are confident her appointment to the role will have very positive outcomes,” he said.

In her time with the whitegoods brand, May has been “instrumental in establishing and fine-tuning Fisher & Paykel’s brand positioning in Australia, and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills in a number of thoughtful and creative marketing activities”.

Reporting to Church at the company’s head office in Macquarie Park, Sydney, May will now be responsible for the Australian marketing team and will head up F&P’s experiential and marketing strategy.

The news of the appointment comes after former marketing manager Peter Russell departed from the role in late August after working with Fisher & Paykel for seven years.
