Nespresso has for the first time added three ‘Variations’ to its permanent ‘Grand Cru’ flavour range in Australia. ‘Variations’ is the name Nespresso gives to non-coffee flavours; in this case, vanilla, dark chocolate and caramel.

Originally released as special editions to lure in Nespresso Club Members during a limited run, Variations are being reintroduced due to customer demand, according to Nespresso.

A sleeve of Variations will cost RRP $8.40 for 10 capsules. Rather than paraphrasing Nespresso’s very amusing descriptions of the three flavours, we will include them in full for wider enjoyment:

Vanilio: A balanced harmony between the rich and the velvety aromas of vanilla and the mellow flavour of the Livanto Grand Cru.  A blend distinguished by its full flavour, it is infinitely smooth and silky on the palate.

Ciocattino: Dark and bitter chocolate notes meet the caramelised roasted flavours of the Livanto Grand Cru. A rich combination, Ciocattino is reminiscent of a square of dark chocolate.

Caramelito: The sweet flavour of caramel softens the roasted notes of the Livanto Grand Cru. This delicate gourmet marriage evokes the creaminess of soft toffee.

Nespresso is asking Australians to visit its Facebook page after trying these flavours to vote on their favourite. There is a prize pool valued at $6,000 to be shared among Variations voters in this poll/competition.

There is also a poll being run to choose Nespresso’s next special flavour. The winning Variation will then be released as a special edition later in the year.
