Sunbeam has recalled a cordless stick blender sold through various electrical retailers between May 2011 and March 2013. The StickMaster Cordless Stick Blender (SM8700) has a Lithium-ion battery that may overheat, posing a fire hazard.

This blender was sold nationally at Harvey Norman, Harris Scarfe, David Jones, Big W, Betta Home Living, Retravision and other stores.

“Sunbeam Corporation takes product safety very seriously and wishes to advise customers of a product safety recall of the Sunbeam SM8700 StickMaster Cordless Stick Blender sold in retail outlets since May 2011,” said Sunbeam in its recall notice.

Users are advised to immediately cease using this blender and to contact Sunbeam for a replacement. Sunbeam can be contacted on its dedicated website or on 1300 782 587.
