The Polaroid brand famous for its vintage photography equipment will soon be adorning LED LCD TVs sold through Coles and other mass market channels.

The six new Polaroid TV models have been manufactured in China and are being distributed by Atico Australia, the Sydney arm of sourcing specialist Atico International. This distribution is totally separate to Polaroid’s digital imaging range, which is supplied by the Melbourne-based Brands Australia.

Polaroid’s range will cover sizes from 18 inches up to 50 inches. No pricing has been revealed though Digital Retailer understands these TVs will be positioned at supermarket price points.

According to a company statement, “Atico International is a full service sourcing and product development company that provides retailers, wholesalers and distributors with the insight and worldwide relationships to build a successful import program.

“Buyers from all retail channels rely on Atico’s comprehensive services, which include turnkey buy plans, colour and trend analysis, regulatory, logistical, art and design support.”

Atico’s natural rivals in the Australian market at Tempo Australasia, which supplies Hitachi-branded TVs, and Vivo International, marketers of the Viano range.
