LG Electronics Australia has announced the appointment of Phillip Anderson to the newly-created role of head of public relations, reporting to corporate marketing manager Fiona Irving, who was formerly responsible for LG’s internal PR.

Anderson joins the Australian subsidiary directly from LG’s head office in Seoul, Korea, where he has worked for the past two years "building the brand with key stakeholders" according to the company. He has more than 17 years experience in communications, including work with Philips Electronics, Samsung Engineering, Chanel and FMCG brand Tetra Pak.

Speaking about the appointment was LG Australia’s general manager of marketing, Lambro Skropidis.

“We are pleased to welcome Phillip to LG Australia,” said Skropidis. “Public Relations is key to the success of our marketing strategy and ensuring our brand reaches its true potential.

“His wealth of industry experience will be a huge asset to our team and we are always excited to have professionals of Phillip’s calibre join our organisation.”

Anderson was also positive, saying he was “looking forward to being part of a team that is fully committed to helping LG realise its vision for the Australian market”.

Today’s announcement follows news yesterday that LG had appointed former face of Miele, Les Stock, as the dealer sales manager for its commercial air conditioning business.
