Berlin’s famous consumer electronics and appliance trade show – known as Internationale Funkausstellung, or IFA – will open its doors next week, with all the big names in tech and appliances set to show off a range of exciting new products, many of which will launch in Australia in the coming months.

Cue excited teaser videos.

UnderCurrent loves a teaser video as much as the next person, and has quickly discovered a few secrets for a successful YouTube short to create a stir around a product.

It’s important to use artistic shots of a world-class city. Always choose a backing track that is equal parts adorable piano tinkling and suspenseful string section. Add to the visuals with an esoteric voiceover that could be talking about a new tech product, or just as easily espousing the timeless beauty of the summer wind.

Try and get a famous artist involved. You know that guy that made a movie about invisible angels that hover over the city of Berlin and look after its inhabitants? I think it was called City of Angels or some such? Yes, him.

Current.com.au will be covering all the big news live at IFA next week. But until then, enjoy a little teasing from Samsung.
