As suppliers from around the world gear up for the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) trade show in Berlin this year, Current.com.au has taken a look at what the big brands will be showing off at the event.

Unlike International CES (the consumer electronics show held in Vegas in January each year) or EuroCucina (the dedicated appliance show that Current.com.au covered in April this year), IFA brings together brands from across the electrical, consumer electronics and appliance categories, showcasing the best innovations in the industry.

To get a first look at what will be on show this year, Current.com.au turned to one of the well-known faces of the event and the ambassador of IFA, Miss IFA.

In perfect keeping with the red mood of Miss IFA’s clothing, this washing machine and condense dryer from Gorenje Vertriebs GmbH brings new meaning to the term ‘whitegoods’.

Capsule coffee machines are growing in popularity in Australia, and this Philips Senseo Twist HD7870/20 model certainly brings a different form factor to the table.

Samsung’s Side by Side refrigerator will be on show at the event.

While many suppliers are bringing out large, zoneless induction cooking surfaces, this Thomson Induction Cooker brings the technology into a smaller footprint.

Although it’s yet to arrive in Australia, Miss IFA gives us an idea of just how big Sharp’s new 80-inch Aquos LE-80LE 645 TV will be.
