The Good Food & Wine Show kicked of Sydney this morning, with hundreds of providores, wineries and homewares brands cramming into five exhibition halls at the Sydney Convention Centre to show off their latest wares.

Among them were a handful of appliance brands that are using the event to associate themselves with the concepts of cooking good food and entertaining in the home. Among them were Fisher & Paykel, which is one of the key sponsors of the event, as well as Nespresso, Vintec and the ever-colourful SodaStream.

Current.com.au got a first look at the Show before doors opened for general punters, and as organisers made the final touches on their stalls, there were plenty of great appliances to be seen.

NESPRESSO

Nespresso’s stand was created with a “brand story” in mind, with coffee machines organised into product families on the stand proper, and a dedicated coffee-making masterclass around the corner, where event attendees will be able to get hands-on with the brand's products.

FISHER & PAYKEL

Fisher & Paykel had a series of product installation spaces on its stand, with sections devoted to the kitchen, laundry and outdoor area, where the company’s new DCS outdoor grills were on full display.

VINTEC

Vintec's boutique-style stand shows off its range of ultra-suave and minimalist wine cooling units. Vintec is also using the show to launch a range of new products to consumers.

SODASTREAM

The prize for brightest stand definitely goes to SodaStream which had a range of colourful soda making appliances on show, as well as a selection of flavour syrups for making any number of fizzy drinks.

AND THE WINNER IS…

While the dedicated “Cheese Alley” section of the show deserves a special mention, the Current Culinary Award for most Delicious and Creative Stand (Non-Vegan Category) goes to Salumi Australia, with a display that certainly puts the “ALL” into “Smallgoods”.
