In the lead up to Mother’s Day, Russell Hobbs has launched a promotion across its entire product range offering one lucky winner a trip to London.

Consumers who purchase any Russell Hobbs product at a participating retailer between 1 March and 14 May 2012 will be eligible to enter the competition, by either completing an entry form from their retailer, or by sending an SMS.

The winner will receive a trip for two people to London, flying business class, as well as transfers, insurance and accommodation for ten nights.

Speaking about the promotion was the product manager for Russell Hobbs Home Appliances, Josh Dickens.

“The idea behind the London promotion is to offer consumers the chance to be rewarded for buying a Russell Hobbs product and to offer retailers a way to promote at shelf/catalogue level to drive sales,” said Dickins.

“The point of sale material being provided assists retailers to create interest at shelf level," he said. "The promotion also enables interest to be created via the retailer’s catalogue activity.

“We know with competitions the prize needs to be incredibly appealing. London is a highly sought after international destination, with a high a focus on it this year due to the Olympics.  Flying business class is something not many people get to do giving it a real element of luxury.  The Russell Hobbs brand has a UK heritage which many consumers are aware of, making London the perfect fit.”

While Dickins conceded the promotion was geared towards the Mother’s Day season, he said it was also a great way to promote Russell Hobbs’ range and the small appliance category in general.

“By combining the London promotion with the launch of the aesthetically stunning and innovative appliances for Mother’s Day, along with new packaging across the range we are hoping to drive sales by raising brand awareness.”

Point-of-sale materials will be provided to participating stores.
