Last Friday, Morphy Richards held an Iron Off event in Wollongong’s Crown Street Mall to promote its new range of ComfiGrip Irons and to spruik the brand’s association with Ironman Ali Day.

According to Morphy Richards’ national marketing executive, Fiona Petkaris, the event drew a great crowd of people turning out to see elite athletes (including Olympic hopefuls Petrina Price and David McKeon, NSW and Australian Triathletes Aaron Royle and Shane Barrie and Ironman Ali Day) do a bit of competitive ironing.

“The day was a huge success with an enormous crowd attending and our brand reaching the Wollongong community along with promoting our ComfiGrip Irons though our sponsor Ali Day,” said Petkaris.

“Australia’s fastest ever runner over 1500 metres, Ryan Gregson, has proven that his speed is not limited to a track after taking out Morphy Richards’ Iron Off.”

And of course, because they’re elite athletes, stripping down to their underwear was all part of the deal.
