Breville has today launched two new small appliances, targeted at home chefs who are cooking up comfort food for the cooler months.

The Hot Wok Pro is an electric wok with high-wall heat that is designed for Asian cooking. With a cast-in 2400 watt element, 15 precision heat settings (up to 218° Celsius) and aluminium-layered construction, it is designed to send heat right up the sides of the wok to replicate the kind of cooking achieved on a gas burner.

It features a 6-Litre capacity, stainless base and Eterna PFOA-free non-stick coating, and the wok bowl is removable for dishwasher cleaning.

The Hot Wok Pro (BEW600) is RRP $149.

For those looking for a little versatility as they head into the winter months, Breville has created the (seemingly paradoxical) Fast Slow Cooker.

The programmable cooker is a combined pressure cooker and slow cooker in one, that “can create tender succulent meals in minutes using the pressure cook setting or infuse flavours for up to eight hours using the slow cook setting” according to a Breville spokesperson.

Similar to the Hot Wok Pro it has a 6-Litre capacity and non-stick cooking bowl, as well as five cooking settings: Fast pressure cooking (with a three-way safety system), slow cooking, sauté/sear, keep warm and pressure steam.

The Breville Fast Slow Cooker (BPR200) is RRP $199.
