TV/AV and cooking appliances to be profit generators in 2011: poll findings

By Patrick Avenell

SYDNEY, NSW: Despite all the reports about price erosion and retail saturation, the TV/AV category is tipped to reap the most profits in 2011, according to the results of Current.com.au’s latest poll. Coming in a close second to the TV market was cooking appliances.

Also scoring well on this poll, which asked ‘What category is going to be the most profitable in 2011?’ was small appliances, proving that the staples of this industry – kettles and toasters – are still big money spinners. Whitegoods also performed well, coming in fourth, whilst seasonal and floorcare polled poorly compared to other options.
