SYDNEY, NSW: Forgotten camera brand Nikon is back on the PR drive, with the Japanese premium digital imaging brand recently wrapping up a nationwide photography competition on Bondi Beach.
The seven winners were from the six states and the Northern Territory, with the winning entries based on how quintessentially Australian their submission was. This competition bears a striking resemblance to Panasonic Lumix Life campaign, although with much less publicity.
Nikon’s brand ambassador, ex-leviathan and all round good guy Geoff Huegill, congratulated the winners at Bondi Beach, with all seven winning a D3100 DSLR camera with twin lens kit, a one day intro to DSLR course and an education day with three Nikon photography ambassadors (none are as famous as Panasonic’s Ken Duncan and Ray Martin).
The winners were Geraldine Lefoe (NSW), Angela Morris (NT), Michael Shepherd (QLD), Malcolm Cole (SA), Casey Jones (TAS), Michelle Odgers (VIC) and Nada Pantle (WA). The poor old ACT didn’t get a look in.
