SYDNEY, NSW: To start with, Fisher & Paykel’s flagship cooking school showcase has been installed in the Sydney Fish Markets since November 2009 – receiving about 12,000 visitors annually.
Then, last week, Channel Nine’s Getaway travel programme took a tour through the Sydney Fish Markets and its Seafood School, offering Fisher & Paykel the opportunity to display its wares in front of a prime time audience.
“Featuring on such a popular show as Channel’s Nine’s Getaway is terrific for the Sydney Seafood School and for us. We’ve been delighted with the feedback from people who’ve seen the program. This further enhances our reputation as a serious manufacturer of premium cooking appliances,” said the company’s national marketing manager, Peter Russell.
“This is the ultimate in experiential marketing for Fisher & Paykel.”
“The school attracts people with a genuine passion for food and not only do they see our products in a beautiful setting, they also get touch, feel and interact with them. Like test-driving a car, we believe it’s this experience that helps people with their decision to buy.”
The Fisher & Paykel appliances showcased include Izona CookSurfaces, CoolDrawers, as well as large capacity Paris ovens and induction cooktops.
The New Zealand company isn’t the only supplier to present its products in an interactive way to thousands each year. Sharp’s 46-inch HD LCD TVs are used to help the chefs’ presentation, coffee is delivered through Nespresso machines and Beefeater gas barbecues are used for the school’s most popular class, the Seafood BBQ.
