SYDNEY, NSW: Speaker specialist Bose trumped big players Sony, Philips, LG and Logitech in a survey released today measuring consumer satisfaction for iPod speaker docks.

Bose scored top marks for design, portability, volume and sound quality but was outdone by all the other brands for price. Logitech came out on top for price, but performed mostly average across the other categories.

Sony and Philips came in a close second to Bose having performed above average in all divisions.

“Our first iPod speaker dock survey showed Bose was the clear winner in its customer’s eyes, beating competitors Sony, Philips, Logitech and LG,” said Canstar Cannex’s head of research, Steve Mickenbecker.

“Bose proved its popularity in Australia and topped the survey in the categories of overall satisfaction, sound quality, volume, design and portability.

“The survey showed Sony won the best features category and Logitech’s customers voted them first place for the price of their iPod speaker dock systems.”

Common consumer complaints for iPod speaker docks included units that don’t charge while they are playing, bulkiness, lack of portability for units without batteries, sound quality and price.
