SYDNEY, NSW: According to the report, issued yesterday in the United States, brands are experiencing high inventory levels for LED LCD TVs, so retailers can expect brands to spotlight promotions of these existing TVs before new models are released.
On the other hand, the report suggests panel makers are back to “safe inventory levels”, leading to the a stabilisation of LCD TV panel prices as there is “little inventory pressure pushing prices down”.
The report also noted that in December 2010, 60 per cent of Samsung LCDs TV panel shipments were to Samsung and Sony, and 45 per cent of LG display shipments were to LG Electronics and Vizio.
Meanwhile, a Queensland retailer has told Current.com.au that if the store was rid of all the TVs and computers he wouldn’t be worried. “I’m not making any money out of them anyway.”
