SYDNEY, NSW: Joining a stable of 26 monitor models across 7 categories, the last monitor series of the year has today been released by Acer.

The S1 series is available in 4 sizes and boasts a 13-millimetre slim profile; it uses mercury free LED technology and has a 12,000,000:1 contrast ratio. On account of the 5-millisecond response time Acer suggests the monitors are suitable for gaming, action movies and other multimedia.

According to Acer, the LED backlighting reduces power consumption up to 68 per cent, in line with the company’s efforts to design environmentally low-impact devices.

“The S1 series monitors were designed with the space-conscious consumer in mind, and is one of the slimmest monitors available today,” said Gaba Cheng, product manager for Acer Australia.

“Another key design consideration for the S1 series was ensuring that the monitor is energy efficient and has low environmental impact.”

The monitors are available at Harvey Norman and other retailers for RRP $169 (18.5-inch).
