SYDNEY, NSW: Smeg has today released the Alfa Romeo of barbeques: the Deluxe BQ90TA. With an RRP of just over $7,500, this outdoor appliance probably should come with a padlock.

Styled in the same manner as Smeg’s popular Classic range of Guido Canali designed major kitchen appliances, the Deluxe at people for whom the barbeque is both a food preparation tool and an outdoor design attraction, like a gnome or a flamingo.

All mirth aside, however, this is a formidable piece of machinery. There are three horseshoe burners designed to eliminate hot spots and create and even temperature flow, an elevation warming shelf, a separate ignition for each burner and three individual draining trays. There a stainless steel hotplate, a full rotisserie and also a smoking draw.

The Smeg Deluxe BQ90TA is RRP $7,590.
