SYDNEY, NSW: Miele has cleaned up in the dishwasher category while Canon and Panasonic have come in first equal for compact cameras in Canstar Blue’s recent spate of consumer satisfaction surveys.

While Canstar Blue has said the camera companies tied in terms of consumer approval, Panasonic scored above Canon for functionality and design, thus gaining an overall higher mark.

Both companies, however, were trumped for price satisfaction by Fujifilm and Kodak, who presented strong overall results. Lagging behind in the consumer popularity stakes were Samsung and Olympus.

Meanwhile, premium appliance brand Miele ranked first place in the dishwasher stakes. Customers surveyed were satisfied with Electrolux and Dishlex for the price criteria, but Miele won for noise while operating, internal layout, and warranty and service.

Canstar Blue head of research Steven Mickenbecker said the consumer survey agreed with the German company’s tagline, ‘forever better’.

“Water and energy efficiency was a huge concern for those who completed the survey, with many people worried about the impact of their dishwashers on both the environment, and their wallets,” Mickenbecker said.

“The internal drawer layout is also causing major dissatisfaction, with many reports that dishwashers do not cater well for large dishes, bowls and pots, and wine glasses.”

According to Canstar Blue, respondents would welcome shorter cleaning cycles, and an ability to stop, and then restart a cycle after opening the machine.

The Canstar Blue logo has been recently used on a Hyundai TVC.
