BRISBANE, QLD: Bundles, bonuses and ‘value adding’ promotions offered by competitive suppliers will help support retailers during the Christmas trading period, according to WOW Sight & Sound general manager of retail.

Don Mayne said he expected a solid Christmas thanks largely to the entertainment industry and its promotion of big ticketed items.

“Brands are becoming increasingly competitive at ‘value-adding’ to their big ticket items, such as televisions, in the lead up to Christmas,” said Mayne.

“This means customers can pick up bonus items like videogame consoles, home theatre systems, DVD and Blu-ray players, and even free TVs when making big purchases. The effects of lower import prices will start to be seen in the coming months especially on [these] items.

“The combination of these lower prices and great ‘value-add’ promotions means Australians will get a lot more for their Christmas budget this year.

“One of our current bonus deals sees customers who purchase a new 40-inch Sony Bravia TV receiving a bonus Playstation 3, PS3 3D Gaming Pack including the hot new release Gran Turismo 5, 2 3D Blu-Ray movies and 2 Sony Active Shutter 3D glasses, a total bonus value of more than $1,040.

“A Panasonic value-add deal offers a free 3D Blu-ray home theatre system  and AVATAR 3D on Blu-Ray worth over $1,340 with any Panasonic 3D plasma TV purchase, while purchasing the latest Sharp Quattron 46-inch panel will give customers a bonus 32-inch TV worth $699.

“We’re encouraging people to come in and see the amazing offers in-store this Christmas, we think they’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
