SYDNEY, NSW: On the back of a solid profit announcement and the news that it is offloading its BigBrownBox online retail website, Thorn Group has had the best week amongst the seven major listed retailers. All the others went backwards, with Harvey Norman and David Jones taking the biggest hits.

In real money figures, Thorn Group has strengthened by 11 cents to $1.77, a jump of 6.6 per cent. Harvey Norman lost 15 cents to $2.98, a fall of 4.8 per cent; while David Jones lost 19 cents to $4.47. The biggest real money loss was by Wesfarmers, which shed $1.03, or 3.1 per cent, to $32.12.
