SYDNEY, NSW: There has been a lot of attempted murder in the multimedia camera category since Cisco launched its Flip device in early 2009. Samsung has today announced the latest Flip-killer: the HMX-E10.

This new device is a Full HD video camera with 8-megapixel image capture. The standout feature is 270-degree swivel capture, with the lens able to rotate .75 of a circle, enabling the cinematographer to become part of the movie, according to Samsung digital AV manager Sagar Dave.

“The Samsung HMX-E10 cleverly combines the best possible image quality with a compact design and convenient built-in USB technology,” said Dave.

“Going a step beyond, the camcorder also offers features such as a swivelling lens, easy uploading of content, a versatile LCD touch screen and a range of smart filters, which together give users the ability to capture and share more while on the go.”

Additional features include a 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD, HDMI connectivity and a microSD Card slot for up to 32GB of memory.

This new multimedia camera available in white, black and orange for RRP $249.
