SYDNEY, NSW: GE has launched a new range of waterproof digital cameras ideal for the new tribe of weekend warriors hitting waterways on kayaks, stand up paddle boards, surfboards and yachts in the warmer weather.

The Active Series cameras include two 12.2-megapixel models, waterproof to five metres (G5WP) or three metres (G3WP), making them suitable for snorkelling and skin diving as well.

The two models are available in blue, raspberry or grey and feature a 2.7-inch LCD display that automatically adjusts to ambient lighting conditions, a four-times internal optical zoom and a number of other features typical of today’s selection of digital cameras (14 scene modes, automatic face detection, electronic image stabilisation and blink detection).

The new GE cameras open up a whole range of activities for GE customers to capture, according to Stewart Pickersgill, general manager of the digital camera sales division at Tasco, who distributes the GE Active Series in Australia.

“Cameras in the GE Active Series are ideal for the active family or outdoor enthusiast as they have been designed to perform in almost any situation,” said Pickersgill.

“Heading into summer, we anticipate these will become one of GE’s best sellers as they deliver on the promise of more camera for less money.”
