SYDNEY, NSW: BenQ has announced a new range of camcorders, a camera with an in-built Pico projector and new professional gaming monitor for the Christmas season.

The new camcorders have been designed especially for the Christmas consumer, with BenQ attaching a very aggressive set of RRPs to these models. The units have the traditional camcorder form factor, as opposed to the new multimedia player designs, and can comfortably fit into one’s hand. They are all Full HD 1080p video cameras, with image capture also included at varying megapixels.

All models will come with dual power supply: both a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and two AA batteries, so that consumers can choose which power supply suits them best. The top of the line model will also feature dual memory card slots, so that with two SD cards, memory is expandable up to 128GB.

To facilitate night movie shooting, some models in this range will include infrared night vision. Firm RRPs have not yet been finalised, but Current.com.au was told prices would range between $199 and $299. These camcorders are expected to be available in 6-8 weeks.

Also coming out from BenQ is a new camera with in-built Pico projector. Shaped like a smartphone, this camera captures images at 5 megapixels and video in Full HD. There are 10 shooting modes for this multimedia recording device, which has a 3-inch screen. To stand this unit out from the pack, a Pico projector has been incorporated, so users can immediately showcase their talents on a screen or wall without transferring the files.

This camera is due to be released in around 10 weeks for just under $300.

Finally, BenQ has announced a new 3D gaming monitor for its enthusiast gamer fans. Described as a professional gaming monitor, this LED unit has a 2-millisecond response time, 23.6-inch screen, a full array of screen aspects to suit the retro gamers, picture by picture and adjustable screen heights.
