SYDNEY, NSW: Kingston Digital has been busy releasing new memory devices in Australia with the latest technologies for speedy data transfers.
Kingston’s fastest card to support high-end digital cameras and other devices is the ComactFlash (CF) Ultimate 600x memory card. It supports read and write speeds of up to 90MB per second and is available in 16GB and 32GB capacities to support large file sizes when shooting in RAW mode or HD video.
“The Kingston CF Ultimate 600x cards are great for photographers shooting in burst mode. For example, in a situation like a wedding or sporting event where the ability to rapidly take successive shots could make the difference between capturing the perfect shot or just missing it,” said Nathan Su, flash memory sales director, Australia Pacific, Kingston.
The CF/16GB-U3 has a RRP $215 and the CF/32GB-U3 RRP $300.
Meanwhile, last week Kingston also announced the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Flash drive, which claims to have up to ten times the data transfer rates of the current USB 2.0.
The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 has a read speed of 80MB per second and a write speed of 60MB per second. It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.
“USB 3.0 is the next major milestone in Flash memory for USB products and Kingston wants to have a solution in the marketplace for early adopters,” said Su.
“The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 is our first USB 3.0 Flash drive offering and is designed for enthusiasts who like to embrace new technology before it goes mainstream.”
During internal testing, a 1 hour 44 minute movie (3.9GB) was written to the drive in 1 minute 13 seconds. Similarly, a 2 hour 23 minute DVD (4.4GB) transferred to the drive at a fast 1 minute 23 seconds, according to Kingston.
