SYDNEY, NSW: Whirlpool has announced it will release four new side by side refrigerators with European aesthetics just in time for Australians who are starting wonder how to best keep their beer cold and within easy reach in the approaching summer months.

The high end appliances will have some competition however, as Samsung attacks the market with its share of impressive refrigerators.

Both suppliers offer sleek looking machines available in stainless steel or black with an array of popular features including ice and water dispensers, energy efficient LED interior lights, digital LCD controls on the exterior, humidity controls, flexible storage solutions and ice crushers for kids’ slushies or adult cocktails.

The Samsung ‘masterbrand’ campaign with Simon Baker illustrates the easy access drinks hatch, handy for grabbing a cold one quickly.

While the access hatch has been touted to be an energy efficient way of grabbing beer from the fridge, the Whirlpool models have a two star energy rating, up half a star on Samsung’s versions.

“Whirlpool has become extremely clever in their product design by introducing innovative features and modern European aesthetics whilst being environmentally conscious to ensure each refrigerator complements any kitchen,” Sonia Lancaster, Whirlpool’s senior brand manager for refrigeration.
