BERLIN, GERMANY: LG Electronics signalled its intentions to become a major player in the Australian 3D market with the release of the world’s largest 3D LCD and the world’s largest 3D plasma display at IFA 2010.

LG has released the world’s largest 3D LCD television at 72-inches which will be sold in the Australian market in November below $20,000.

Complementing this product was another world first – the world’s largest 3D plasma display – a 180-inch multi-panel assembly featuring nine panels together.

To emphasise its ability to cover all 3D categories, LG has also announced it will be introducing 50-inch and 60-inch 3D plasma televisions which will be available in October at competitive pricepoints of $2499 and $3499.

“We are the only brand with OLED, LCD, LED and plasma as well as 3D home theatre, 3D recorders and 3D sound. We can cover every aspect of the 3D concept,” said LG Electronics Australia general manager of sales, Michael Doyle.
