SYDNEY, NSW: Asus has appointed a new managing director for the Australia and New Zealand division of the open platform business group.

Mia Tsai is not new to Asus, however. Tsai was first employed in 2001 to set up Asus headquarters in Australia and New Zealand. Under Tsai’s stewardship the established motherboard and VGA business was ranked first in the open platform market in Australia from 2001 to 2004.

As such, Tsai, who took the MD role on 26 July 2010, returns to the company with a solid understanding of Asus company culture and strengths.

“ASUS has experienced significant growth over the last four years thanks to the previous strong management team Mr. Ted Chen and Ms. Carmen Li. They contributed enormously to building a strong business foundation for ASUS in Australia and we are grateful for everything they have done for the company,” said Tsai.

“ASUS will continue to invest in marketing activities to enhance our brand exposure and continued growth in the ANZ market.”

Tsai spent the last five years launching a business in the automotive industry, which her partner will continue to operate.
