SYDNEY, NSW: With less than one month to go, Australian retailers are preparing for the world’s largest trade-focused whitegoods and consumer electronics fair, IFA 2010, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with orders expected to top 3 billion Euros.

Once again the latest developments in the 3D television market are expected to be announced by the top manufacturers in the category in the lead-up to the crucial summer sell-in and sell-through retail period for the northern hemisphere.

Held this year from 3-8 September, over 1,150 exhibitors are expected to occupy the 121,000 square metres of exhibition space. Leading companies exhibiting at IFA will include: Bosch, Canon, De’Longhi, Dyson, Electrolux, Grundig, Jura, JVC, LG, Liebherr, Loewe, Miele, Panasonic, Philips, Sennheiser, Russell Hobbs, Saeco, Samsung, SanDisk, Sharp, Siemens, Sony and Toshiba.

IFA 2009 attracted 228,600 visitors – with an increase in trade visitors of over 14 per cent. Of these approximately 20 per cent were from overseas markets.

“Once again we received confirmation that we occupy an outstanding position in the world for the various industries involved. As the trade fair with the most product premieres we have been able to strengthen the international position of IFA even further,” said Messe Berlin COO Dr Christian Göke.
