SYDNEY, NSW: Leading appliance brands, including Nespresso, Fisher & Paykel, Ilve and LG, are currently setting up their stalls and relaying extension cords at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, with the Good Food and Wine Show being uncorked this Friday.

With epicurean delights the zeitgeist of the MasterChef generation, the 2010 edition of the wildly successful public fair is expected to be more popular than previous incarnations. Unsurprisingly, two of the three most watched TV personalities in Australia, George and Gary from MasterChef Australia are the major drawcards, replacing the foul-mouthed food fanatic Gordon Ramsay as the figurehead.

In addition to checking out the latest coffee machines from Nespresso, small appliances from Tefal and major kitchen appliances from Ilve, consumers can be immersed in the all-encompassing world of LG appliances and the new Izona fitout from Fisher & Paykel. Sunbeam is also in attendance, running coffee classes and cupcake decorating schools for pre-booked attendees.

Sunbeam product marketing manager Allison Cupillari said the popularity of these classes in Sydney has met expectation, selling out before the show has even begun.

“The popularity of the classes in Sydney is no surprise as we’ve received glowing reports from last month’s event in Melbourne,” Cupillari said.

“Attendees from the Melbourne show were particularly impressed by the quality of

our coffee classes, hosted by one of Australia’s best baristas and ‘latte art champions’, Erin Sampson.

“Also bakers of all ages expressed how much they enjoyed the creative and fun cupcake making and decorating classes.”

The Sydney Good Food and Wine Show runs from Friday 16 July 2010 through to Sunday 18 July 2010.
