MELBOURNE, VIC: Swann Communications recently announced the appointment of industry veteran Michael Van Raay as its new vice president. Van Raay has over 20 years experience in the consumer electronics game, including stints with Pioneer and Whirlpool.
In welcoming Van Raay to Swann, CEO Ian Barton said his responsibilities will encompass research and development on new technologies, product life cycle management and creating retail kits.
"With the current growth in CCTV and security monitoring solutions markets all over the world, we needed a new product development leader with vast consumer electronics experience to take the company to the next level," said Barton.
"I am thrilled to have been able to attract someone of Michael's calibre to help us achieve our goals.”
Prior to joining Swann, Van Raay was the Oceania marketing manager at Whirlpool Appliances. Before that, he worked in marketing product development at Pioneer Electronics.
Van Raay said Swann’s consistent expansion and product development were key factors in his acceptance of this position.
