MELBOURNE, VIC: TCL Electronics is currently running a gift-with-purchase promotion to encourage sales of its new LED LCD TV range at retail level. Consumers who buy one of two high-end TCL TVs will receive a free Full HD camcorder, whilst TCL is offering a free Blu-ray player to consumers that purchase a mid-range model.

Running through until the end of September 2010, TCL is offering, via redemption, a free camcorder (RRP $599) with the purchase of either the Ultra Slim 100Hz Full HD 46-inch or 55-inch LED LCD models (L46P11FZE, RRP $1,999 and L55P11FZE, RRP $2,999).  These two LED LCD models are both 2010 models, with the 46-inch unit receiving a 7.4-star energy rating, making it one of the most efficient TVs on the market.

For consumers looking for a mid-size TV, TCL is offering a free Blu-ray player (RRP $199) with purchases of its 100Hz 40-inch LED LCD TV (L40PFZW, RRP $1,699).

TCL also has LED LCD TVs in smaller sizes, with the range beginning at 19-inches. This gift-with-purchase offer is only applying to the larger sizes, however, as TCL is encouraging consumers to spend more money when buying a TV in the retail store.

TCL general manager Paul Widdis told Current.com.au that this promotion has been timed to coincide with some big sporting events.

“We believe sport is a fantastic tool for bridging gaps and bringing people together around the television,” Widdis said.

“This year is colossal for sport:  we’ve witnessed Spain’s victory in the World Cup from the comfort of our living rooms, soon we’ll be eagerly watching the footy finals and the Commonwealth Games will be upon us in October.

“So in celebration of this super sports year we’ve put together some exclusive bonus freebies just in time to enhance your viewing experience of these favourite events on a new TCL ultra slim LED telly.”

TCL will again be official TV supplier of the Melbourne Cup Carnival in 2010, with Flemington against set to be decked out with hundreds of TCL screens during the biggest racing week of the year.
