SYDNEY, NSW: Taking the trend of stylish appliances to a new level, GE has unveiled a new line of compact cameras that has been created in collaboration with an acclaimed fashion designer.

The company’s new Create point and shoot cameras were the result of an exclusive partnership with designer Jason Wu and will make their runway debut at the Digital Life Expo in Melbourne from 4 – 6 June 2010.

Distributed by Tasco Sales Australia, the GE Create by Jason Wu collection will be available from June.

“Jason has brought a sense of style to these cameras, which in conjunction with GE’s technical expertise for ease-of-use, makes this collection a major departure from anything else in the market,” said Tasco Australia general manager, digital camera sales division, Stewart Pickersgill.

“Create represents a technical evolution in how consumers take pictures, with simplicity at the forefront.”

The range offers one-touch operation to take pictures, record videos and easily delete photos, which is designed to eliminate the need to navigate through menus and screens.

The Create cameras have also been designed with connectivity in mind, with a built-in memory and retractable USB connector for transferring or viewing of images on laptops, desktop computers and TVs with USB ports.

The cameras also feature a 3x optical zoom lens and 2.7-inch high definition LCD screen, as well as a designer leather camera purse and wrist and neck straps.

The 4-gigabyte Create 1000 (RRP $229) features a metal finish and is available in white, black, gold, red, yellow, blue and green, while the 8-gigabyte Create 2000 (RRP $299) comes with a black, white or grey leather finish.
