MELBOURNE, VIC: The National Australia Bank has appointed PPB's Phil Carter as the receiver and manager of Clive Peeters – the same man who managed the Betta Stores receivership in 2006.
Carter presided over the receivership of Betta Stores Limited, the publicly listed company which owned the Betta Electrical and Chandlers brands which was eventually sold and revived as Betta Stores Retail (BSR).
PPB will now oversee all aspects of Clive Peeters' business.
According to PPB’s media relations representative, Ben Jarvis, additional comment is unlikely to be made by the receivers today.
“The receivers have just taken hold of the business and are conducting an extensive review, they are unlikely to be able to comment on the business at any stage today,” said Jarvis.
