SYDNEY, NSW: Breville has retained its top position in the kitchen mixer category, with four SKUs currently in the top ten best sellers chart, according to brand director David Gubbin.

Quoting GfK figures, Gubbin said Breville’s Wizz Mix Professional (BEM400) was the top selling mixer in the country. Also in the top ten are the BEM800, BEM200 and EM3 models.

Gubbin said Breville held a 34.5 per cent value share of the mixer market, which he said was an increase of 11 per cent for the year to March 2010.

“The growth of the mixer category is great news for the small appliance sector. We’re committed to providing home cooks with innovative products and our mixer sales results reflect consumer demand for greater performance benefits,” Gubbin said.

“The fact that Breville is the only brand with four mixers in the top ten value sales across the country speaks volumes for the importance consumers are placing on innovative features at competitive prices.”

“You only have to look at the increasing readership figures for food magazines, the ratings success of reality cooking shows and the proliferation of cooking blogs to recognise the growing love Australians have for preparing good food at home. With the right tools to get quality results, it’s no wonder that more people are feeling inspired to give it a go for themselves.”
