SYDNEY, NSW: Along with its rising success in TVs, LED technology continues to make inroads into the computing world with BenQ releasing what the company has called the world’s slimmest LED monitors.
Designed to offer both superior picture quality and significant energy savings, the new V series is made up of 24-inch, 16:9 widescreen monitors that come in 1080p Full HD resolution.
The V2420H (RRP $479) and V2420HP (RRP $479) models were recently awarded the 2010 iF product design award in Germany.
BenQ has also announced that it will add to the series with the V2410 (RRP $549), which, according to the company, is not as slim as previous models but is designed for corporate use and is height adjustable for added versatility.
With environmental concerns becoming more and more important, BenQ’s V series monitors are designed to be as green as possible, using energy efficient LED backlighting, which the company said reduces power use by up to 44 per cent.
The power reduction can increase to up to 71 per cent less when used in BenQ’s ‘Eco’ mode, the company said.
The Full HD monitors are further enhanced with BenQ’s Senseye Human Visual Technology, which is designed to use six proprietary calibration techniques to help the monitors produce improved visuals.
“The new V2410 provides 5,000,000:1 ultra-high contrast ratio, while the new ultra-slim 15 millimetre thick V2420 Series provides 10,000,000:1 ultra-high dynamic contrast ratio,” said general manager for BenQ Australia, Chee F. Chung.
“This equates to picture quality that is brighter and more balanced, but most impressively, they cost significantly less to run than their predecessors.”
All three models of the V series will be available at the end of this month.
