SYDNEY, NSW: Groupe SEB this afternoon launched its new range of Tefal MasterChef cookware. This release is timed to coincide with the return of MasterChef to Channel 10 next week.

Since MasterChef emerged from the mire that is free-to-air TV to stand out, both critically and commercially, a number of brands have come on board to be associated with the program. These include Sunbeam and Ariston. Tefal, however, has been with MasterChef since infancy, having first partnered with the program in September 2009.

The new range of cookware was demonstrated to guests at the launch event by MasterChef cohost and Fenix restaurateur Gary Mehigan.

Special features of the range include Thermo-Spot Technology, which lets you know when your pan is preheated to the right temperature to seal in the flavour; and Prometal Pro Non-Stick Coating, which is promoted as being a metal utensil safe food release and cleaning top coat.

A 3-piece Tefal MasterChef saucepan set, including 16-, 18- and 20-centimetre models with lids is RRP $329.

A 5-piece set, featuring 20- and 26-centimetre frypans, 16- and 18-centimetre saucepans with lids, and a 24-centimetre stewpot with lid, is RRP $579.
