SYDNEY, NSW: With Panasonic yesterday unveiling its 2010 dedicated 3D plasma TV range, first-to-market Samsung believes it has already received the tick of approval from Australian consumers.
With is 3D range available from the beginning of the week, Samsung said consumers have reacted very favourably to their new technology, finding it ‘surprising affordable’.
With an entry level 3D TV available for RRP of $2,499, Samsung has come out with an aggressive price point in an effort to attract what it calls ‘ordinary families’, as well as the traditional early adopters.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response following the first days of product in store suggesting we got that price point right,” said head of marketing, consumer electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia, Mark Leathan.
“We always knew that 3D was going to capture the attention of the Australian public, but we knew that in order for it to be truly successful we needed to launch it at a price point that the ordinary family could afford.”
Panasonic announced yesterday its launch model 50-inch 3D plasma TV will be available in June for RRP $3,299, with prices for its 54, 58 and 65 inch models not yet revealed.
