MELBOURNE, VIC: The Miele Gallery in South Melbourne played host this weekend to the Miele Hands-On MasterClasses as part of the 2010 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

Hosted by Miele Australia, a principal partner in the festival, the MasterClasses involved 12 amateur participants working with professional chefs from around the world, using Miele’s range of Generation 5000 cooking appliances.

The 3-hour experiential sessions in the Live Kitchen at the Miele Gallery incorporated dishes selected by Ana Sortun from Oleana, Boston; Michael Psilakis from Anthos, New York; Gontran Cherrier from Paris; and Thomasina Miers from Wahaca, London.

According to Miele, the Generation 5000 domestic appliances used by the amateur chefs, including the Combi-Steam Cooker and CombiSet Tepan Yaki grill, are designed to produce restaurant quality results in the home kitchen.
