Sharp Australia has released the only seven star energy rated television in the 52-inch market segment. Sharp claim the new LED backlit LCD panel is extremely energy efficient compared to conventional LCD TVs.

According to Sharp, the LC52LE700X delivers greater energy savings with a low power consumption on 173 watts, produces less heat generation and is able to boost backlight life to 100,000 hours.

Denis Kerr, Sharp deputy managing director, said the company is committed to being environmentally friendly.

“Large model televisions are generally known to produce and use more power and energy,” he said.

“We at Sharp are dedicated to developing and improving high performance home entertainment technology that meets energy efficient standards.”

Some of the features of the LC52LE700X include a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 1080/24P signal output, Fine Motion Advanced Technology, SRS TruSurroundHD, Bass Enhancer and AQUOS Link.

Sharp has also provided a range of connection options on the new panel including HDMI x 3, AV-In x 3, Component x 2, S-Video In and PC In. AV, Optical Audio and headphone out terminals are also incorporated.

The LC52LE700X is available now for an RRP of $3,899.
