MELBOURNE, VIC: Fresh from its success with the UltraOne bagged vacuum, Electrolux Floor Care will soon be introducing its premium bagless solution, the UltraActive. Managing director John Maher gave Current.com.au an exclusive preview of this product at Electrolux Floor Care's Melbourne showroom.

There are three products in the UltraActive range: the top of the line 'fresh yellow' ZUA3860 (RRP $649), the copper ZUA3830PT in the middle of the range (RRP $499), and the cyan entry-level model ZUA3820P (RRP $399).

Major features of the premium model include Electrolux's Aeropro motorised power nozzle system and hard floor nozzle, an ergonomic looped handle, remote control at the handle for both on/off and power control, and 2,100 maximum motor wattage. Each of the three models weighs 6.2 kilograms.

These new machines have already been exhibited to key channel partners, with first deliveries expected in four weeks. This model will have broad distribution at launch, with all retailers able to receive stock.

Electrolux Floor Care is different from other major vacuum cleaner suppliers in that it markets both bagged and bagless floorcare products. Maher said that whilst the ActiveOne was Electrolux's premium bagless model, the bagged UltraOne remains the overall hero product.

Despite this, Maher was quick to point out how effective a vacuum cleaner this unit is. He said it has up to 20 per cent more airflow than many other full-size bagless cleaners, but with 20 per cent less weight and 30 per cent less vertical footprint.

Current.com.au was also treated to the first look at Electrolux's refreshed ErgoRapido stick-vac range. The new models will be available in cassis (similar to mauve), antique steel (silver), fresh yellow and green. As part of this range's facelift, the ErgoRapido vacs now feature LED guiding lights at the front for identifying dust when vacuuming poorly lit crevices.
